The North Aegean Regional Development Fund
It actively supports the Region's participation in operational programs and transnational collaborations.
The North Aegean Regional Development Fund is a legal entity under private law. It was founded in February 1998 by decision of the Secretary General of the North Aegean Region and is based in Mytilene.
It was established in the North Aegean Region in accordance with Law 2218/94 and its amendments and is supervised by the Legality Auditor of the Decentralized Administration of the Aegean.
Board of Directors
The Regional Fund is governed by a 9-member Board of Directors, with the incumbent Regional Governor of the North Aegean serving as its President.
The term of the Board of Directors is five years. With decision no. 16/2023 of the Multi-Member Court of First Instance of Mytilene, Mr. Konstantinos I. Moutzouris was declared Regional Governor of the North Aegean, who is also the President of the Fund for the next 5 years.
Furthermore, the Regional Development Funds are now included in the "General Government Entities", so they adopt public accounting and record their financial data at a central level, while at the same time maintaining the "Register of Commitments".
