The project’s main goal is to improve risk management derived from natural, technological and anthropogenic disasters. This goal will be achieved by the development of an Intelligent System which will record all the available resources and will take into account the decision-making factor. It will also incorporate state-of-the-art technology in order to follow the current conditions.
Specifically, the project’s targets include:
- the improvement of the preparedness and readiness of the local authorities,
- the reclaim of the current resources and the shortening of the decision making,
- the restoration of basic operations and infrastructures,
- The improvement of the risk assessment and recording, in terms of time and method.
The Intelligent System will be based on research work and will be evaluated through a pilot project in two study areas. It will also contribute to the coordination of possible crises and the cooperation between authority bodies. After the end of the project both countries will be flexible to implement the Intelligent System in their districts.
