Project Summary
Objective of the project FORCLIMADAPT is the confrontation but also the protection from the natural dangers which are result / query of climatic changes. More specifically, the project deals with the adaptation of management of Mediterranean forests in the climatic changes, with direct interest in the maximization of faculties of adaptation of these forests thus optimizing the conditions of existence of residents but also animals and plants. The project has as aim to provide solutions in the management of forests adapted in the new data of climatic changes. It will be focused in the dangers of erosion, fires, etc.
The drawing of concretization of the project aims:
- in the evaluation of the effect of climatic changes in combination with the risk of forestal fires in Mediterranean. In the region of study, a good practice from the side of North Aegean Region must be applied in relation with the effect of climatic changes, but always taking into consideration the protection of forests from the fires. (A corresponding example - good practice - constitutes that of Region of Marseille that had planted cedars, after this type was considered one of most durable in the climatic changes)
- in the development - in inter-country level of - methods of management of risk, in the development of new strategies and techniques for the use of land and in their optimization en' waiting of climatic changes.
Actions that will be materialized in the frame of the project:
- prevention of dangers (including the creation and the concretization of plans and actions for the management of natural and technological dangers)
- adaptation in the climatic changes and estimate of their effect
