The project MEDRISK aims to solve the non-satisfactory synergy of operation of systems of danger prevention that threaten the environment and the rational management of natural resources (drought, dissertation, fires, earthquakes, pollution) in Mediterranean. The main objective of the project is the networking of institutions of confrontation of the above destructions in local, prefectural, regional and trans regional level.
The objective is appreciated that can be achieved with the concretization of following action:
- research for the way of creation of necessary infrastructure and administrative support of the ideal Centre of prevention of natural destructions
- development of a common administrative tool for the application of thematic cartography and recognition of likely dangers in the collaborating in the project regions (e.g. development of common database GIS)
- Briefing of public on the confrontation of environmental dangers (placement of maps in vital points with the message “learn how to be saved”).
Individual objectives of the project constitute :
- the interconnection and the adoption of common policy of Centers of Management of Crises in the various countries
- the creation of scenarios and the better planning of Civil Protection in each rung of Administration
- the briefing of the public
The achievement of the above objectives will have as result to create the essential infrastructure, which will constitute as the base for future extensions of the system of management of various destructions and dangers, as earthquakes, floods, forestal fires, atmospheric, land, marine pollution etc. Moreover, will be given the possibility - after research and in the base of experience that will be acquired - to be worked out of what will be supposed to include also how such a Center will be supposed to be structured which will then be interlinked with other corresponding Centers and Institutions (Meteorological Service, etc.) aiming at the exchange of experiences and good practices of management of dangers.
